Don’t You Agree? Persuasive Writing for 11+ Exams
“Don’t You Agree?” explores how to sway an audience through the power of words.
This far-reaching class explores prompts from the Flint water crisis to squirrel clubs (we’ll explain later) to make persuasive writing engaging and real for your child.
By the end of the session, your child will deftly deploy the key techniques required to create a powerful piece of persuasive writing.
Inside the Mind of the Examiner
Our second half-term masterclass will delve into the mysterious mind of an Eleven Plus examiner. Children will don their examiners’ hats to analyse a variety of writing samples, teaching them how to differentiate between good and bad writing.
We’ll teach the creative writing flourishes examiners love (and hate!) before asking children to put pen to paper and implement all they’ve learnt.
Note: Children can attend the sessions individually and do not have to do both sessions to benefit. Children attending both classes will, however, get the opportunity to explore both non-fiction and fiction writing.
