Children will explore how poetic devices, structure and language work together to create powerful effects. Taking inspiration from Edgar Allan Poe’s ‘The Raven’, they’ll develop their skills through a range of poetry activities.

Children will learn how to set the scene for their story. Using famous texts for inspiration, they’ll be guided through writing an opening paragraph that makes an impact.

These classes will be recorded for staff training purposes. Class recordings will not be shared beyond this. By purchasing this class, you agree to your child’s face and voice to appear in this recording.
Cancellations received at least seven days prior to the course start date will be refunded less a £5 administrative fee. Cancellations received after this will not be refunded but participants will be provided with materials from the lesson.
Feedback on writing produced in this class may be provided in verbal or written form. Kin Learning reserves the right to refuse to provide further feedback on individual work that has already been discussed.
